What is a Towny Server
What is Towny?
Towny is a plugin that allows you to claim land and manage it however you would like. You can invite other players to join your town, give them plots and grant them special ranks as you see fit. The more residents you have in your town, the more chunks you are able to claim.
How do I make a Town?
The first step that you will need to take in order to make a town of your own is ranking up to Settler. using the /rankup command. You will also need $500 in your balance to cover the cost of actually creating the town.
Now that you have reached the appropriate rank, you will need to select a location for your town. Use F3 + G to view chunk borders and stand within the chunk that you would like to start your town in. Using the command /t new <town name> will create a town for you and give it the name you chose, it will also take the $500 from your balance.
In order to claim more chunks of land, you will need to deposit money into your town bank. You can view information about your town, including how much is in your bank by typing /t into the chat. ****Each extra chunk that you claim will take $100 from your town bank. Use /t deposit <amount> to deposit money into your town bank. Also, you can only claim chunks that are connected to already claimed chunks, so make sure that it is touching the ones you previously claimed. Use /t claim to claim another chunk.
Every town on the server is taxed. This means that you HAVE to have money in your town bank at ALL TIMES, otherwise your town will fall and everything will become unclaimed. This is very important because other players are able to loot and grief in unclaimed areas.
For each chunk that your town has claimed, $50 will be removed from your town bank every IRL day. Using the /t command, you are able to see how much you pay each day. /towny time will show you how long you have until taxes are removed from everyones town bank for that day
